Howard Watts Aims to Retain Assembly Seat in Central Las Vegas

Assemblyman Howard Watts III, representing the central Las Vegas Valley, is campaigning for his third term against a Republican challenger in Assembly District 15. With a significant Democratic registration advantage, Watts, a public relations consultant and a Las Vegas native, emphasizes his legislative focus on environmental issues and water conservation.

Watts has been instrumental in policies for removing nonfunctional turf and seeks further initiatives to lead the region in water conservation. He aims to leverage federal funds from the Inflation Reduction Act for climate-related infrastructure, supporting Nevada's economy diversification while addressing climate change.

If re-elected, Watts plans to prioritize investments in K-12 and higher education, and affordable housing, acknowledging these as critical concerns for his constituents. He advocates for utilizing unallocated American Rescue Plan funds to enhance affordability in childcare, healthcare, housing, and energy, aiming to address pressing economic challenges faced by Nevadans.
