Watts Presses Elon Musk’s Boring Company on Hundreds of Health and Safety Violations
Assemblymember Watts is pushing for stronger accountability for Elon Musk’s Boring Company following hundreds of alleged safety and environmental violations tied to its Las Vegas tunneling project. During a legislative hearing, Watts pressed regulators about oversight and emphasized that large companies operating in Nevada must follow the same rules as everyone else.
Watts raised concerns about what appears to be a pattern of violations and questioned whether penalties are being taken seriously. As he put it during the hearing, “I’m concerned that breaking the law and breaking the rules has essentially just become a cost of doing business [for Boring].”
By demanding clearer answers and stronger enforcement, Watts is working to ensure that large corporations and their billionaire backers operate with real accountability and protections for workers, communities, and the environment.
