Watts Blasts Proposal to Dump Nuclear Waste In Nevada

Assemblymember Howard Watts joined business and community leaders to call out Republican US Senate Candidate Sam Brown’s support for the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste dump. If opened, extremely radioactive materials would be trucked down Interstate 15, through the heart of Las Vegas and Assembly District 15. The danger has resulted in bipartisan opposition to Yucca Mountain from Nevada’s elected officials for decades, successfully halting and defunding the proposal.
