Nevada's Water Sustainability Efforts Led by Assemblymember Watts

In response to Nevada's pressing water sustainability challenges, Assemblyman Howard Watts has spearheaded a successful effort to increase funding for the state's Division of Water Resources. His initiative provides a $3.1 million budget boost to enhance the management of Nevada's precious water resources.

In addition, Watts is also sponsoring Assembly Bill 220 to increase conservation of Nevada's Colorado River water supply. Given the river's critical importance to Southern Nevada and the broader crisis it faces from prolonged drought and climate change, AB220 represents a pivotal step in Nevada's commitment to water conservation on a systemic level.

These efforts by Assemblyman Watts underscore the urgency of addressing water sustainability in Nevada, aiming to ensure a balanced and resilient water management strategy for the state's future.
